“Again Jesus said to them, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.’” John 20:21 (BSB)
Authority is not something you take on yourself—it is something you carry because you were sent. In John 20:21, Jesus does more than comfort His disciples; He commissions them. He ties their mission to His own. “As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.” That means your authority is not self‑generated. It is not based on your personality, your gifting, or your experience. It is rooted in the One who sent you. When you live as someone who is sent, you stop approaching life as a wanderer and start walking as an ambassador. Sent people carry purpose. Sent people carry confidence. Sent people carry authority.
To live as one who is sent means you see your life as an assignment, not an accident. You recognize that every environment you enter is a place where Heaven has positioned you. You speak with clarity because you know you are not speaking on your own. You act with boldness because you know you are backed by the One who sent you. You refuse to shrink back because you know your presence is intentional. Jesus was sent with authority, and He sends you with the same. You are not trying to earn influence—you are carrying it.
This Truth breaks the lie that you are insignificant, unqualified, or unprepared. The enemy wants believers to feel random, aimless, or unsure. But Jesus removes all uncertainty with one sentence: “I am sending you.” When you know you are sent, hesitation loses its grip. Fear loses its voice. Intimidation loses its power. You stop asking, “Am I ready?” and start declaring, “I am sent.” Authority flows through identity, but it is activated through assignment. When you know you are sent, you step into situations with Heaven’s confidence.
Living this way produces clarity and direction. You stop drifting and start moving with purpose. You stop reacting to life and start responding to your calling. You stop waiting for permission and start walking in the commission Jesus already gave you. Sent people pray differently. They speak differently. They carry themselves differently. They know they are not representing themselves—they are representing the One who sent them. And Heaven backs those who walk in their assignment.
Today is about embracing the Truth that you are sent. You are not wandering. You are not guessing. You are not hoping to be used. You are commissioned by Jesus Himself.
Confession: I am sent by Jesus. I carry His authority, His purpose, and His assignment everywhere I go.
Prayer: Father, thank You for sending me. Establish my steps and teach me to walk in the authority of the One who commissioned me.
Closing Charge: Walk today as one who is sent—authority flows from assignment.
