“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 (BSB)

Sickness is not just a condition—it is a thief. And Scripture gives you one clear instruction regarding thieves: resist them. James 4:7 reveals a spiritual law that applies to every form of darkness, including sickness. When you resist the enemy, he must flee. Not might. Not eventually. Not if conditions improve. He flees because resistance is an act of authority. Sickness is part of the enemy’s work, and when you resist it with the Word, it loses its power. Resistance is not struggle—it is enforcement. You are not begging God to intervene; you are enforcing what Jesus already accomplished.

To resist sickness means you refuse to accept it, agree with it, or identify with it. You do not tolerate symptoms. You do not surrender to fear. You do not allow sickness to dictate your expectations. You resist with your words, your stance, and your identity. You speak the Word. You command symptoms to leave. You declare what God has said, not what your body feels. Resistance is not passive—it is active. It is the believer standing in covenant authority and saying, “This does not belong to me.” And heaven backs that stance.

This Truth breaks the lie that sickness has the right to linger. Many believers unknowingly yield to sickness by accepting it as normal, expected, or unavoidable. But the Word instructs the opposite. Sickness is an intruder. It is a trespasser. It is a thief attempting to occupy territory it does not own. The enemy wants you silent, passive, and resigned. But God commands you to resist. And when you resist, the enemy must flee. Sickness cannot stay where authority is exercised.

Living this way produces boldness and clarity. You stop asking, “Why is this happening?” and start declaring, “This has no right to stay. Get behind me!” You stop interpreting symptoms as defeat and start seeing them as opportunities to enforce victory. You stop waiting for sickness to leave on its own and start driving it out with the Word. Resistance is not denial—it is dominion. It is refusing to yield your body to anything Jesus already defeated.

Today is about embracing the Truth that resistance is powerful. You are not the sick trying to get free. You are the healed resisting what does not belong. And when you resist, sickness must flee.

Confession: I resist sickness in Jesus’ name. It has no right to my body, and it must flee from me now!

Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me authority to resist sickness. Strengthen my resolve and help me stand firm in the victory Jesus won for me.

Closing Charge: Resist sickness today—your authority in Jesus’ name guarantees its retreat.
