Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” – Galatians 3:13 BSB

The Foundation of Redemption

Redemption is at the heart of the Gospel. It is not merely a theological idea but a living, breathing reality that shapes how we walk with God. The Word reveals that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law — poverty, sickness, and the second death. These three categories represent the full spectrum of human brokenness, yet through Jesus, we have been delivered from all of them. Redemption is not symbolic; it is complete, finished IN Christ, and available to every believer who receives it by faith.

Understanding the Curse

To appreciate redemption, we must understand what we were redeemed from. Deuteronomy 28 provides a detailed list of the Blessing and the curses associated with the Law. The first fourteen verses overflow with God’s desire to bless His people, while the remaining verses outline the consequences of disobedience. These curses were never God’s heart for humanity — they reveal the weight of sin and the impossibility of earning righteousness through works. When we encounter circumstances that resemble these curses, we can boldly declare, “That’s not mine,” because Christ has already taken the curse upon Himself.

The Finished Work of Christ

Jesus did not partially redeem us. He fully satisfied the requirements of the Law and broke the power of the curse. His death, burial, and resurrection secured our freedom from everything the curse represents. Poverty is replaced with provision. Sickness is replaced with healing. Spiritual death is replaced with eternal life. The finished work of Christ is the foundation upon which we stand, and our redemption is as secure as His victory.

The Power of Declaration

Living in redemption requires agreement with God’s Word. Declaration is not empty speech; it is spiritual alignment. When we declare, “He is my Healer, my Redeemer, my Deliverer,” we are reinforcing the Truth of what Christ has already accomplished. Our words shape our perspective, strengthen our faith, and activate the promises of God in our lives. Declaration renews the mind and positions us to receive what grace has already provided.

Renewing the Mind to the Blessing

Redemption invites us into a lifestyle of Blessing, but walking in that Blessing requires intentional renewal. We must continually align our thoughts with the Word of God and reject anything that contradicts Truth. As we meditate on the Word and speak it over our lives, we begin to see ourselves the way God sees us — redeemed, blessed, healed, and victorious. This renewal is ongoing, shaping our identity and transforming our daily experience.

Confession

I declare that I am redeemed from the curse of the law through Jesus Christ. Poverty, sickness, and spiritual death have no authority over me. I walk in the Blessing, provision, healing, and life more abundantly. My mind is renewed, my words align with Truth, and my life reflects the victory Jesus secured. What God has redeemed, I refuse to reclaim. I live in the fullness of His Blessing today, in Jesus’ Name!
