“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” Philippians 2:9–10 (BSB)
The authority of the believer begins with the supremacy of Jesus’ Name. Before you ever speak a command, resist the enemy, or enforce victory, you must understand the weight of the Name you carry. Philippians 2:9–10 reveals that God Himself exalted Jesus and gave Him the Name above every name. This was not a title He assumed or a reputation He earned. It was a divine bestowal—a coronation from the Father declaring Jesus as the unrivaled, unquestioned, uncontested Lord over all. Every realm—Heaven, earth, and under the earth—recognizes the supremacy of His Name. Every knee bows to it. Every power submits to it. Every force of darkness trembles before it.
When God gave Jesus the Name above every name, He established the highest legal authority in existence. No name outranks it. No power competes with it. No situation is immune to it. The Name of Jesus is not merely a religious phrase or a closing line to prayer. It is the signature of Heaven, the seal of divine authority, and the legal instrument through which God executes His will on the earth. When you speak His Name, you are invoking the authority of the One who conquered death, stripped the enemy, and ascended to the right hand of God.
This Truth breaks the lie that the believer is powerless or outmatched. You are not standing in your own strength. You are standing in the authority of the exalted Christ. The enemy is not resisting you; he is resisting the Name you carry—and he cannot withstand it. Fear loses its grip when you understand the supremacy of Jesus’ Name. Intimidation dissolves when you realize that every knee must bow to the Name. Your confidence is not rooted in personality, emotion, or spiritual intensity. It is rooted in the exaltation of Jesus.
Living this way produces boldness and clarity. You stop approaching spiritual battles with hesitation and start approaching them with certainty. You speak the Name of Jesus with reverence, confidence, and expectation. You know that when you declare His Name, Heaven backs you, darkness obeys you, and circumstances shift. The Name above every name is the foundation of your authority and the guarantee of your victory.
Today is about embracing the supremacy of Jesus’ Name. You carry the highest authority in the universe—not because of who you are, but because of the Name you bear.
Confession:
The Name of Jesus is above every name. I carry His authority, and every knee must bow when I speak His Name.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for exalting Jesus and giving Him the Name above every name. Teach me to honor, trust, and confidently use His Name.
Closing Charge:
Speak His Name today—everything bows to Jesus.
