“When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Jesus, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.” Matthew 8:16 (BSB)
Jesus did not heal with effort, struggle, or strain—He healed with a Word. Matthew 8:16 reveals the power of the spoken Word: Jesus drove out spirits with a Word and healed all who were sick. The same Word that delivered the oppressed is the Word that heals the sick. The Word does not comfort sickness; it confronts it. The Word does not negotiate with symptoms; it drives them out. When the Word is spoken, darkness loses its grip, sickness loses its place, and the enemy loses his hold. The Word is deliverance in action.
To say the Word drives out sickness means sickness cannot stay where the Word is actively spoken and believed. The Word carries authority. The Word carries Life. The Word carries the same power Jesus used in His earthly ministry. When you speak the Word over your body, you are not reciting religious phrases—you are releasing the same force that drove out demons and healed multitudes. The Word is not passive. It is not weak. It is not symbolic. It is a weapon that expels what does not belong.
This Truth breaks the lie that sickness is something you must tolerate or manage. Many believers silently endure symptoms, hoping they will eventually fade. But Jesus modeled something different. He spoke the Word directly to sickness and drove it out. He didn’t wait for conditions to improve. He didn’t wait for symptoms to change. He released the Word, and the Word produced the change. The enemy wants you quiet because he knows the Word in your mouth enforces his defeat. When you speak the Word, you enforce what Jesus already accomplished.
Living this way produces boldness and clarity. You stop asking sickness to leave and start commanding it to go. You stop hoping for relief and start declaring deliverance. You stop letting symptoms dictate your expectation and start letting Scripture determine your victory. The more you speak the Word in faith, the more aggressively sickness is pushed out. The Word is not a suggestion—it is a command backed by heaven. And sickness must obey.
Today is about embracing the Truth that the Word of God is not just healing—it is deliverance. It drives out sickness the same way it drove out darkness in Jesus’ ministry.
Confession: The Word of God drives out sickness from my body. As I speak it, healing and deliverance flow.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the power of Your Word. Help me speak it boldly and drive out anything that does not belong in my life.
Closing Charge: Speak the Word today—what Jesus drove out then, His Word drives out now.
