“And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13–14 (BSB)
When Jesus gave you His Name, He wasn’t giving you a religious phrase to end your prayers with. He was giving you power of attorney—the legal right to act on His behalf. In the natural, power of attorney means one person authorizes another to represent them fully, using their name, their authority, and their resources. Jesus did the same for every believer. When He said, “Whatever you ask in My Name, I will do it,” He was transferring His authority to you. He was giving you the right to speak, command, and act as His representative on the earth. Heaven recognizes His Name, and Heaven responds when you use it.
Power of attorney means you are not praying in your own strength or standing in your own righteousness. You are praying in His. When you speak His Name, Heaven hears Jesus. When you resist the enemy in His Name, darkness recognizes Jesus. When you declare His Name over your life, you are invoking the authority of the risen, exalted, victorious Christ. His Name carries His victory, His dominion, His triumph, and His finished work. You are not trying to get God to move; you are using the Name that guarantees He will.
This Truth breaks the lie that you are powerless, unqualified, or unworthy to use the Name of Jesus. The authority of the Name is not based on your performance—it is based on His position. Jesus authorized you. Jesus entrusted you. Jesus commissioned you. The enemy wants you silent because he knows he cannot resist the Name. He wants you hesitant because he knows the Name enforces his defeat. But the spirit of faith speaks boldly because it knows the Name carries Heaven’s full backing.
Living this way produces confidence and clarity. You stop begging God to intervene and start using the Name He gave you. You stop praying from desperation and start declaring from authority. You speak to situations knowing Jesus Himself backs your words when you are standing on His Word. You resist the enemy knowing he must obey the Name. You declare the Word knowing the Name enforces it. Power of attorney means you are not acting alone—you are acting in Christ’s stead.
Today is about embracing the legal, spiritual, Heaven‑backed authority of Jesus’ Name. You have the right to use it. You have the responsibility to use it. And when you do, Jesus said, “I will do it.”
Confession:
Jesus has given me power of attorney in His Name. When I speak His Name, Heaven moves and darkness must bow.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for entrusting me with the authority of Jesus’ Name. Teach me to use it skillfully, boldly, and faithfully.
Closing Charge:
Use His Name today—Heaven backs every word spoken in it.
