“And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.” 1 John 2:28 (BSB)

You stand before God without shame. Not because you have lived perfectly. Not because you have never failed. Not because you always feel worthy. You stand without shame because you are in Christ, and Christ has removed everything that once separated you from God. Shame is not your identity. Shame is not your posture. Shame is not your portion. The righteousness of God in Christ Jesus is.

Shame tells you to hide. Righteousness tells you to remain. Shame tells you that God is disappointed. Righteousness tells you that God delights in you. Shame tells you to shrink back. Righteousness tells you to stand boldly. Shame is rooted in who you were. Righteousness is rooted in who you are. You do not stand before God as a sinner trying to be accepted. You stand as a son or daughter already accepted.

1 John 2:28 reveals the power of abiding. When you remain in Christ—resting in His righteousness, anchored in His love, confident in His acceptance—you do not shrink back in shame. You stand with boldness. Shame loses its voice when righteousness becomes your consciousness. Shame loses its grip when identity becomes your foundation. Shame loses its power when you realize you are clean, forgiven, and fully loved.

Being able to stand before God without shame means you no longer carry the weight of your past. You are not defined by what you did. You are defined by what Christ did. You are not shaped by old failures. You are shaped by His finished work. You are not marked by sin. You are marked by righteousness. Shame cannot cling to someone the Blood has cleansed.

This Truth breaks the lie that God is waiting to expose your flaws. God is not looking for reasons to reject you. He is the One who removed every reason. He is not pointing at your past. He is pointing at His Son. He is not calling you out. He is calling you near. You do not stand before Him with your head down. You stand with your head lifted, your heart confident, and your identity secure.

Standing without shame shapes how you walk through each day. You pray freely because nothing separates you. You worship boldly because you know you are loved. You repent quickly because shame no longer controls you. You walk in peace because your conscience is clean. You live with joy because shame has lost its hold on you.

Today is about embracing the Truth that shame has no place in your relationship with God. You stand before Him confident, clean, and unashamed.
