PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [Matthew 6:9-13]

I always pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to me the riches of the Spirit of revelation to know Him through my deepening intimacy with Him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of my imagination, flooding me with light, until I experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritance that He finds in me, His holy one! I pray that I will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available through my faith. Then my life will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through me! This is the mighty power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! And now He is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised, not only in this age, but in the age that is coming! And He alone is the leader and source of everything needed in the Church. God has put everything beneath the authority of Jesus Christ and has given Him the highest rank above all others. And now we, His church, are His body on the earth and that which fills Him who is being filled by it! [Ephesians 1:17–23]

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would give me, according to the riches of His glory, power to be strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that I may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that I ask or imagine, according to the power that works in me, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. [Ephesians 3:14–21]

I pray that I may be filled with the full, deep, and clear knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things. That I walk and live in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition. I pray that I may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, to exercise every kind of endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made me fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints in the Light. The Father has delivered and drawn me to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred me into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in Whom I have redemption through His blood, which means the forgiveness of my sins. [Colossians 1:9–14]

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. [Philippians 4:13]

I always thank God because of his grace given me in Christ Jesus. For in him I have been enriched in every way— in all my speaking and in all my knowledge—because the testimony about Christ is confirmed in me. Therefore, I do not lack any spiritual gift as I eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep me strong to the end, so that I will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called me into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. [1 Corinthians 1:4-9]

I have been raised to new life with Christ, I set my sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. I think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For I died to this life, and my real life is hidden with Christ in God. [Colossians 3:1-3]

I pray that my partnership in the faith may become effective as I fully acknowledge every good thing that is mine in Christ. [Philemon 1:6]

For my determined purpose is that I may know Him that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly, and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection which it exerts over believers, and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed in spirit into His likeness even to His death, in the hope that if possible I may attain to the spiritual and moral resurrection that lifts me out from among the dead even while in the body. Not that I have now attained this ideal, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own yet; but one thing I do it is my one aspiration: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling me upward. [Philippians 3:10-14]

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within me, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. I pray that my love will overflow more and more, and that I will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want to understand what really matters, so that I may live a pure and blameless life until the day of Christ’s return. May I always be filled with the fruit of my salvation—the righteous character produced in my life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God. [Philippians 1:6, 9-11]

I am God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that I may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for me [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that I should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for me to live]. [Ephesians 2:10]

I am devoted to prayer, being watchful and thankful, as I pray that God may open a door for the word, so that I may proclaim the mystery of Christ. I pray that I may declare it clearly, as I should. Acting wisely toward outsiders, redeeming the time. May my speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that I may know how to answer everyone. [Colossians 4:2-6]
